HVAC installation
Ductwork, chilled water pipework and equipment setting — the mechanical half of HVAC, which is the same discipline as our plant pipework.
In Bahrain’s climate, cooling is not a comfort system — it is a continuously loaded one. Equipment runs year round, chilled water pipework carries condensation risk at every support and penetration, and insulation defects become visible as dripping within months.
Scope
- Ductwork fabrication, installation, support and sealing
- Chilled water, condenser water and condensate pipework
- Air handling unit, fan coil and ventilation equipment setting
- Extract, kitchen and car park ventilation systems
- Grilles, diffusers, dampers and volume control devices
- Thermal insulation and vapour barriers to duct and pipework
- Plant room pipework, pumps, valves and headers
Where the problems occur
Chilled water systems fail at the vapour barrier, not the insulation. Where the barrier is interrupted — at a hanger, a valve, a flange or a penetration — warm humid air reaches the cold surface and condenses inside the insulation, which then holds water against the pipe. Continuous vapour barriers and insulated supports are specified and installed as part of the pipework, not as a separate trade afterwards.
Testing and commissioning
- Ductwork leakage testing to the specified class
- Hydrostatic testing of chilled water pipework
- Flushing, chemical cleaning and water treatment
- Air and water balancing support
- Functional testing and commissioning support with the specialist
